Summary 

A Journey to Hope, is a documentary covering the stories of multiple families who’ve migrated to the United States of America under varying dire circumstances, their struggles upon arrival, acclimation, and their current lives today.

“I risked my life to come to America only to watch my wife clean toilets.” – Immigrant

The purpose of this film is to shed light on the humanistic requirement for basic needs (Food, Shelter, Survival), regardless of racial belonging, or country of origin. Specifically in relation to immigration to America. To further share the historical socioeconomic hurdles families faced, along with their current socioeconomic, and political encounters.

Stories behind what we as humans are willing to face for opportunity, future generations, the beauty that comes from these difficult decisions.

The primary storyline follows John, a former Vietnamese Military Member. Who in response to having his land taken over by Communists during the Vietnam War, secretly builds a boat by hand in order to escape the war, saving the lives of his family and many others, for freedom.

This is their Journey to… Hope.
